We offer big city representation from a small town, community-based perspective. Our goal is to be a personal resource for people whatever their legal need. 

Peter's motivation to become a lawyer was a desire for answers—the legal system seemed arcane and unapproachable. It needed a new interface; one where regular people can get the information and help they need at a reasonable cost and minimal stuffiness.

Having spent 30+ years in the entertainment business, Peter offers a firsthand understanding of, and pragmatic solutions to, the situations of our creative clients. Playing in, and managing, a band while touring the world, Peter learned to be organized and flexible.  

We give you individual attention. Buying a new home or starting a new business is not just a paper transaction—it's a life event that deserves careful consideration of the details.

We practice gender-neutral law, open to a diverse body of clients. In the spirit of increasing accessibility to the legal system for underserved people, we have devoted a portion of our practice to name and gender marker updates for transgender people.

From our office in the arts mecca of Northampton, we assist an international clientele. This small town in Western Massachusetts has a long history as a prosperous center of creative activity in all the arts.

​You will find us upstairs from Click Workspace, a co-working environment for entrepreneurs, new media workers, writers, sustainability experts, graphic designers and other creative professionals. 

Peter's Music

  • Play percussion and banjo and sing Sacred Harp music

  • Toured USA, Europe and Singapore

  • Recorded numerous albums with Cordelia's Dad and Tim Eriksen

  • Appeared with hundreds of artists, including Nirvana, Doc Watson, Weezer, Yo La Tengo, Soul Asylum, Uncle Tupelo and Vice President Al Gore

  • Performed at the Newport Festival, CBGBs, Iron Horse, First Avenue, Mountain Stage and many more

  • Sang on Academy Awards backing up Alison Krauss and Elvis Costello

  • Developing, and performing in, an experimental musical magic lantern show called Pumpkintown

Sarah Wolfe

Office Manager and Paralegal

After college, Sarah spent 10 years managing a band (genre: “countrifunked jazzabilly”) throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Meanwhile, the desire to immerse themselves further in the world of artists, contracts, and related adventures led them to Felcher & Freifeld, a music entertainment law firm in New York City. After 14 years as their office manager and paralegal, they joined forces with Peter in 2014 — with a wide variety of organizational, management, and legal skills at their disposal. While Sarah previously spent their free time collecting tattoos in Brooklyn, they now spend their time reading, wandering in the woods, and eating their farming-advocate wife’s delicious food creations. 

Beth Alvis

Administrative Assistant

Beth joined our team in September of 2021 after spending the last 8 years working in various customer service roles. From managing accounts and handling emergency situations at a basement waterproofing company, to crafting all forms of cafe beverages at a famous coffee chain that started in Seattle, she realized her passion for support roles and organizational assistance (as well as a lifelong caffeine dependence). In her free time, Beth co-runs a TTRPG podcast with her friends and supports production with music, writing, and unbridled enthusiasm.
